Day 020: Facebook Login Approvals

One step on from being notified of new accesses on your Facebook account? how about authorising all new accesses?

Login Approvals:

I love these simple measures you can take to improve your privacy or security.
From the Security tab in the Account Settings screen, select Login Approvals.

Enable this and now no new device can access your account without having access to either your email mailbox and/or your mobile phone via SMS.
Simply put, this sends a numerical authorisation code to your mobile or mail account, as registered in Facebook. Any device asking to access your account, even if they have your password, then gets a second prompt for that numerical code.
Obviously this can dramatically I prove the security of your account. The only problem is that not all applications can handle this second ‘password’. Mostly these will be old, mobile apps or activity sharing schemes.
There is a fix for this though…
