Metropolitan police have issued a statement that a 19 year old man was arrested in a pre-arranged operation by the Central e-Crimes Unit (PCeU).
The statement mentioned cooperation between Essex Police, PCeU and the FBI. The statement says that he was arrested in relation to DDoS attacks thought to all be instigated by the same hacking group, attacks on international businesses and intelligence agencies.
This has led to speculation that the suspect is involved with recent LulzSec activity, especially the 1hour outage it caused to the CIA.
Forensic examination of material found in a premises on Wickford, Essex and questioning on the teenager continue.
